Below are my sermons from the Triduum this year: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter.
Though we might experience each day’s liturgy as separate, they are in reality one liturgy. There is no dismissal after Maundy Thursday. We leave in silence. The Good Friday liturgy begins and ends in silence, again without a dismissal. Likewise, Holy Saturday begins and ends in silence. There is no dismissal.
From the silence of the tomb come the words of a new creation, “Alleluia. Christ is risen.”
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death,
and giving life to those in the tomb.
