Χριστός ανέστη εκ νεκρών, θανάτω θάνατον πατήσας,
και τοις εν τοις μνήμασι ζωήν χαρισάμενος 

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death,
and upon those in the tombs bestowing life.
