The Days Will Surely Come – A Sermon On Jeremiah 33:14-16

Do you ever feel like your life is out of kilter and you’re a hot mess? Do you ever feel like you’re out of sync with yourself, others, or God?   “The days will surely come,” says the Lord, “when ….” When have the walls of your life been breached, your security violated, and your Read more

  • Am I Really Who I Say I Am? – A Sermon On John 18:33-37

    Am I Really Who I Say I Am? – A Sermon On John 18:33-37

Do you ever feel like you are one person here and another person over there? Do you sometimes change who you are and how you present yourself depending on where you and who you are with? I suspect we all do.  In some settings and with some people there is integrity and alignment between who Read more

Do Not Be Alarmed – A Sermon On Mark 13:1-8

Do not be alarmed. That’s the first thing I have to say about today’s gospel (Mark 13:1-8). She wants something new. And who among us today doesn’t know what that’s like? Haven’t there been times Read more

The year my dad was in Viet Nam my mom, sister, and I lived in my mom and dad’s hometown. I was about nine or ten years old. Every few weeks I’d go to Alfie’s Barber Shop for a haircut. It was always the same routine. I’d climb up in the chair and Alfie would Read more

“Let Me See Again” – A Sermon On Mark 10:46-52

Most of you have heard enough of my preaching that you won’t be surprised when I tell you that I don’t want us to literalize today’s gospel (Mark 10:46-52) and make it about only physical blindness and sight. We often hear this story and think of blindness and seeing in their outward forms. But what Read more
